Saturday, December 5th came as Roy and Anita Watuula’s highlight in their lives as they tied the knot in one of the most colourful ceremonies in 2020.
However, the Ugandan couple exchanged their vows hardly aware that the cruel hand of death was ominously lingering with a motive to strike just the following day.
Roy, died at midnight, Sunday, December 6th at Kapchorwa District hospital, eastern Uganda from causes that first manifested in breathing difficulties.
According to Roy’s mother, Ms Lydia Watuulo, her son’s death was caused by a blood clot in his left lung.
Roy and Anita were both alumni at Uganda Christian University (UCU) where the groom’s father, Mr Richard Watuulo, is a dean Dean of Faculty of Education and Arts.
Those who attended the wedding were hit by shock and disbelief as they struggled to make head and tail of what had happened.
Accordingly, they took to social media to condole with Anita and both families.
One of the messages read,
“This news is too hard to bear, may the newlywed and both families find strength in God’s sufficient grace.”
