As the Israel Iran conflict escalation intensifies, former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, stating that Israel’s next round of strikes will be “even more brutal” if Tehran refuses to abandon its nuclear ambitions. His remarks, shared on Truth Social, come amid rising regional tensions and ahead of planned U.S.–Iran nuclear talks in Muscat, Oman.
“There has already been great death and destruction,” Trump wrote, “but there is still time to make this slaughter stop… Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left.”
In the same post, Trump called on Iranian leadership to preserve what he referred to as “what was once known as the Iranian Empire,” urging: “No more death, no more destruction. JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”
U.S. Denies Involvement in Israeli Strikes
Though the former president acknowledged being briefed in advance of the Israeli operation, current U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have publicly distanced Washington from the military action. The Biden-Trump transitional diplomacy team insists the U.S. had no operational role in the strikes and has since urged Iran not to retaliate against American positions in Iraq or the Gulf.
“They [Israel] knew what to do, and they had the equipment to do it,” Trump added, referencing advanced U.S.-made military assets in Israel’s arsenal.
Iran Nuclear Talks Threatened by Airstrikes
The timing of Israel’s offensive has complicated already fragile diplomatic efforts. The U.S. and Iran were scheduled to resume nuclear negotiations this weekend in Oman, focusing on whether Iran should be allowed to enrich uranium even for civilian energy purposes. Following the attack, those talks are now in jeopardy.
Trump reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that launching a strike before negotiations could “blow the talks”—or paradoxically, “help them.” As of now, the talks hang in limbo.
Strikes Hit Tehran: Nuclear Scientists, IRGC Command Killed
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed they launched a large-scale, multi-wave attack on Friday morning, striking over 100 Iranian targets including missile storage sites, command bunkers, and the critical Natanz nuclear facility.
Among the Iranian officials killed in the strike were:
- General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC
- Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Iran’s military chief of staff
- Several top officials from the IRGC air force command
The high-ranking commanders were reportedly meeting inside an underground facility in Tehran when the missile strike hit.
Iran Responds With Drones, Israel Intercepts
In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 Shahed drones toward Israel, most of which were successfully intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system. Civilian casualties in Tel Aviv have been confirmed, with rescue crews responding to several impact sites.
Images from Tehran and Tel Aviv show scorched buildings, destroyed infrastructure, and growing panic among civilians.
A Warning From Trump and a Grim Outlook
As the Israel Iran conflict escalation enters a dangerous phase, Trump’s public commentary underscores the geopolitical stakes. While pushing for diplomacy, he delivered a chilling message:
“Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely… They are all DEAD now. And it will only get worse.”
The international community is now bracing for further escalation. The UN has called for an emergency Security Council meeting, and oil markets have reacted sharply, with Brent crude prices rising by over 7%.
The Israel–Iran showdown is quickly spiraling into one of the most consequential military confrontations in decades. With nuclear diplomacy on the brink and both sides threatening further violence, the coming days could determine whether the region steps back from the edge—or plunges into full-scale wa
