“We will walk with this family. I will ensure three-year-old George Miles receives full education, and we will clear the college fees for Ojwang’s widow, who is studying community health,” Sakaja stated.
The governor confirmed that the widow is in her final semester and assured her of employment within the Nairobi County health department upon graduation.
Investment in Ojwang’s Legacy and Family Future
Governor Sakaja’s pledge goes beyond short-term help. He announced that the County Government will purchase land and construct rental units for Ojwang’s parents in Homa Bay, enabling them to earn a sustainable income.
He also disclosed that public donations made to the family will be invested in a money market fund rather than being used for funeral expenses, ensuring long-term financial security for Ojwang’s son.
“This tragedy must not rob the child of his future. We will use the contributions to build something lasting,” Sakaja added.
