Burna Boy car collection: Nigerian music icon Burna Boy has officially become the African artiste with the most expensive personal car, after acquiring a rare McLaren Senna valued at KSh 268 million (₦3.2 billion).
The award-winning Afrobeats star—real name Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu—set social media on fire after videos showed him proudly taking delivery of the ultra-exclusive hypercar.
What Car Did Burna Boy Just Buy?
Burna Boy added a McLaren Senna to his growing fleet of luxury vehicles. Only 500 units of this hypercar were ever produced globally, making it one of the rarest and most coveted cars on the planet. Named after Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna, each McLaren Senna is uniquely customized—no two are the same.
Fans captured clips of Burna Boy taking the carbon-fiber beast for a spin on the streets of Lagos, drawing massive cheers from onlookers.

Why Is Burna Boy’s McLaren So Expensive?
According to Earl Karanja, a top automotive journalist and supercar dealer, the price tag is justified by more than just brand prestige.
“The McLaren Senna is McLaren’s third hypercar after the F1 and P1. Burna’s model features an exposed carbon-fiber body that costs over $300,000 alone—before the base price,” said Earl.
Powered by a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, the Senna delivers:
- 800 horsepower
- 800Nm torque
- 0–100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds
- Top speed: 335 km/h
- Curb weight: Only 1,200 kg (fully carbon fiber)
It also features the largest rear wing ever fitted to a road car, generating up to 800 kg of downforce for elite track performance.
“Burna Boy is the first African performing artist to own a hypercar of this class,” Earl confirmed.
