 Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, was born on October 10, 1989, in Kisumu County, Kenya. He attended Kisumu Township Primary School for his primary education and later joined Kisumu Boys High School for his secondary education. After completing his secondary education, he enrolled at the University of Nairobi, where he pursued a Bachelor of Law degree.
