Birth control and family planning has always been associated with women, and apart from vasectomy, men who would like to plan still have little or no other options. However, all that is about to change with the recent male birth control pill that passed safety and tolerability tests, when a selected number of men took it for one month on a daily basis.
According research reports from the two institutions that are testing the pill, it’s usage produced the hormone responses that are associated with effective birth control
The March 2019 study was jointly led by Professor Stephanie Page from the University Of Washington School Of Medicine and Professor Christina Wang from Los Angeles.
In a research that sampled 40 normal men, it was revealed that the pill 11- Beta-methyl-19-nortestosterone dodecylcarbonate or (11-Beta-MNTDC) lowered sperm production without affecting a man’s sexual drive.
